EquiTeach Programme

The EquiTeach Programme is a capacity-building initiative of the GEMS project designed to empower academic staff in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to promote gender equality in ICT education. By equipping professors, lecturers, and researchers with the EquiTeach Guidelines in ICT, the programme provides a structured framework to identify and eradicate gender biases within teaching methods and curricula. These guidelines include at least seven modules covering critical topics such as gender-sensitive language, inclusive lesson planning, and the effective use of role models in the classroom. The programme features video pills that illustrate key concepts and help educators transform their lecture dynamics into more inclusive, attractive environments for young women.
